desquickify

verb. To remove ew-provoking squickery from a person, place, or thing.

Real citation: "Everything I would say has already been said, but as I've said elsewhere, I've made it sort of a personal goal to desquickify myself. I have a few that remain and don't even want to be tempted, and I leave those alone. But if a good story that pushed other buttons contained those squicks I would read it anyway."

Made-up citation: "To err is human. To desquickify is polite."
